DIRT SURFIN' - American pale ALE

Year Round

Full-flavored and hoppy with sufficient supporting malt character, this American Pale Ale is clean and golden in color.  Hopped entirely with Centennial hops, this APA has a citrus-like punch toward the end of each sip.

When I first started homebrewing back in 2008, we lived in California.  My first shot at an all-grain beer was an American Pale Ale (APA) brewed that summer.  Passions run deep around here and not only are we passionate about beer, we are also passionate about the outdoors, trails, and especially mountain biking.  Mountain biking in California is legendary and in the summer the earth is super dry and the dirt turns to a loose, sandy form and when you’re shredding downhill on a mountain bike, it’s almost like surfing. This recipe has changed over the years but still pays homage to that first APA and the summer of 2008.
